Who Am I?

Who am I? I’m just like you.
Though my disability never taught me to walk,
to this poem I give thanks, for making my dreams come true.

Without this escape I haven’t a clue,
just who I’d be if I didn’t have my pen to talk.
Who am I? I’m just like you.

I never took my first steps, put yourself in my shoes.
In myself I wouldn’t change a thing, is it such a shock?
To this poem I give thanks, for making my dreams come true.

I can achieve anything I set my mind to, and even if it takes me a little longer to put on my socks,
Who am I? I’m just like you.

I won’t say I’ve never wanted to give up a time or two,
but no limitations can ever get me to stop.
To this poem I give thanks, for making my dreams come true.

In writing this poem, it feels as if time flew,
getting lost in my passion, too immersed in my paper to glance up at the clock.
While you are here on Earth walking, skipping, dancing, flying you will be someday soon, here I am rolling my way through life, yet in heaven I’ll be running too.

  1. This is Beautiful you are a very beloved child of God and most loved by your Grandmother. You are not disabled by the disability you have you are able by the abilities you have. ♥️
