Faith’s Fashion: Quarantine Edition

During this quarantine, if you’re like me, then you’ve fallen into the rabbit hole that is online shopping at least once, and you’ve worn baggy clothes almost everyday.

When I was given gift cards for my birthday, I knew exactly how I could put them to good use. I went on a search for athleisure clothes for the days that I still wanted to look cute while wearing loose shirts. Once they arrived, I laid them all out and matched them up with some of my accessories, bottoms, and shoes. Instantly I was able to turn these seemingly plain shirts into fashionable, quarantine-approved outfits.

If you would like a clothing haul of the shirts that I bought and want to see just some of the ways you can achieve the athleisure look, then keep reading the “Quarantine Edition” of what I’ve decided to call Faith’s Fashion.

Outfit #1

With this outfit, the added sparkle from my crystal-studded Michael Kors high-tops brings this Adidas top and black leggings to the next level.

Outfit #2

A classic black and white outfit with the trendy tie-dye leggings pairs perfectly with classic Adidas shoes. The iridescent stripes on the shoes elevate this look.

Outfit #3

Who says only sneakers can go with athleisure wear? These classic Doc Marten boots add a casual grunge look to this fashionable Adidas logo top.

Outfit #4

With my favorite pop of color, royal blue, this outfit coordinates perfectly with a retro gold chain and hoop earrings. And you can’t go wrong with classic Doc Martens lace ups.

Outfit #5

Get a throwback to the 90s with this faded Hurley t-shirt, gray leggings, and Timberland boots. If you want to add something extra to this look, you can layer dainty gold chain necklaces.

Outfit #6

If you want a head-to-toe Nike look, then this is the perfect look for you. With this look I matched my Nike, pastel-striped, loose tee with my heather gray Nike joggers. My favorite addition to this look was my rose gold Air Max Nike sneakers.

I hope these looks inspire you to get creative in your own closet!

Making History at 19

Due to this pandemic, many individuals have had to celebrate their birthdays in quarantine, yet I never expected I would be one of them.

When last year I spent my eighteenth birthday playing in my last high school orchestra concert, I thought I’d always have next year to have a big pool party! But, the world had other plans.

As the city was only just beginning the process of reopening, and with only days until May 3rd, we decided it was best to party from home!

I started my day by, of course, getting glammed up to go nowhere!

Then, we got to get creative with my birthday cake. We decided on a vanilla cake that we attempted to dye purple. This proved to be harder than we thought. Luckily we had cream cheese frosting, that we dyed pink, to top it off. As for birthday candles, we forgot them, so we had to improvise. But, I have to admit, I was impressed with the way that it turned out. Not only did it look good, but it was tasty too!

My only wish this year was that the world soon heal from this, so that we can step outside unafraid and hug our friends again.

My day was filled with love and gratitude as I was surrounded by family, and was still able to talk with my loved ones that could not be with me.

I’m glad I have this blog post as documentation of such strange times in our world. Never did I ever imagine that by simply staying home, l’d be making history at 19.
